Inauguration of a Family Farm School in Côte d’Ivoire

On 26th August 2017, CÉMOI handed over keys of a new Family Farm School in Gnity Touadji, city located in south-west Côte d’Ivoire.

This ceremony was also the occasion to proceed to the delivery of end of training certificates to the pupils of this school. A ceremony attended by members of the European Institute of Cooperation and Development (IECD), co-initiator of the project, local administrators, a delegation from Cémoi Côte d’Ivoire, the Cocoa Coffee Council and of course, the Farming communities of the town of Méagui. Speeches, guided tours of the school and stories of farming success stories gave a special note to this event.

Family Farm School aims to improve the vocational integration of unemployed rural youth in Côte d’Ivoire by supporting them in employment and entrepreneurship in rural trades (farming, livestock farming, processing, etc.). With a goal of training 25 new young people per year, EFA has already been able to train 45 students, with 31% of girl in agriculture and livestock. Many others have benefited from the expertise of our fermentation centres via work placements and study visits.
