Within our Transparence Cacao program, the environmental pillar is based on a clear vision: produce a chocolate that contributes to environmental protection efforts that reduce the risk of deforestation, improve the farmer’s income and promote a smart cocoa agriculture. Therefore, being one of the initial signing chocolate companies of Cocoa and Forest Initiative is part of this ambitious sustainable cocoa vision.
The Cocoa & Forests Initiative is the first global partnership bringing together the governments of the world’s leading cocoa producing countries and the private sector in a common framework for sustainable cocoa. Transparence Cacao was among the first signatories of this initiative and takes engagement by 2022 for curbing deforestation around 3 main topics:
- Forest Protection and Restoration
- Sustainable Production and Farmers’ Livelihoods
- Social Inclusion and Community Engagement
