OUR APPROACH
Transparence Cacao sources cocoa directly through partner producer organisations and maintains traceability to participating farmers at origin.
The programme combines farmer registration, geolocation of farms, digital traceability systems and volume monitoring to strengthen data reliability and supply-chain transparency.
Traceability systems are continuously updated as farmers join the programme and as sourcing areas evolve.

Building traceability from farm to customer
For more than a decade, Transparence Cacao has progressively developed traceability systems designed to maintain visibility from participating farmers through to cocoa deliveries.
All participating farmers are registered and linked to identified farms and producer organisations. Farm data are regularly updated and integrated into digital traceability systems, including Farmforce in Côte d’Ivoire and Trusty in Latin America. Since 2024, 100% of cocoa plots supplying Transparence Cacao are georeferenced and linked to digital traceability systems, supporting full traceability to participating farmers across all sourcing origins.
Traceability information is verified before integration into programme systems and is used to support legal compliance, risk assessments and sourcing decisions. In Côte d’Ivoire, geolocation data are cross-checked against protected-area maps and deforestation-risk datasets, while elevated-risk plots are subject to additional reviews and field audits where required.
