WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT
DELICIOUS AND COMMITTED CHOCOLATE BARS
For every Fairy Choc chocolate bar purchased, 10 cents are donated to the Transparence Cacao programme. This support helps finance various projects that address needs identified locally, covering a range of topics such as economic empowerment and access to healthcare.
Thanks to Fairy Choc, women will benefit from a healthy healthcare environment, with a renovated building equipped with the necessary medical equipment.
Renovation work is under way… and the facility is expected to open in 2027.
More details coming soon!
PROJECT No. 1: Entrepreneurship in Baba
30 women supported in their cassava processing activity.
Since the end of 2024, this project has supported a group of motivated women by enabling them to process cassava into products that are popular locally, such as attiéké or placali paste. Cassava is a widely grown tuber that deteriorates quickly after harvesting. In order to preserve all its qualities and reduce waste, processing is essential.
Fairy Choc and Transparence Cacao have supported them in addressing their needs in order to professionalise their activity:
– Development of dedicated premises
– Planting of cassava cuttings
– Distribution of agricultural equipment
– Equipping the premises with the equipment needed for processing (e.g. grinder, press, basins)
Following the implementation of the agricultural and processing stages, the commercial aspect was developed: the women have been supported every quarter by a coach with management since 2024, and locally made market stalls have been distributed to facilitate the sale of their production.
Sales enable the women to improve their financial autonomy and generate additional income for their households.
Key figures: Cassava cultivation across 7 plots of 400 m², representing a total of 2,800 m². Latest harvest in 2026: approximately 15 tonnes of cassava.
Next steps:
End of 2026: launch of literacy classes for 25 women, with support from a coach over 3 years.
PROJECT No. 2: Access to healthcare in Pauly
In the Pauly region, cocoa farming plays a central role and is part of local know-how. Access to healthcare for this growing community relied on an ageing health clinic. This healthcare facility handles more than 2,000 prenatal consultations and more than 200 births per year.
In 2026, Fairy Choc wanted to develop this facility into a healthcare centre dedicated to women and children, with the following objectives:
– Enable women to give birth in dignified and safer conditions
– Develop medical care for newborns from birth (check-ups, vaccinations, etc.)
– Provide a space dedicated to listening to and raising awareness among women
